When I said I wanted to get out more, I was thinking along the lines of actually leaving the house now that the last ankle biter has gone to school, but actually it would appear I can do most of my socialising from my own kitchen, drinking my own Ethiopian Mocha, with very little make up on! (ok none, plus slippers) Most of this blogging malarky seems to be about having a nose through other peoples lives, so I thought it only fair to share some of my antics. I'll try not to waffle or moan and just give you the highlights, if there are any!
I'm in the middle of a kitchen refit well actually awaiting kitchen fitters who have already postponed. It did give me time to paint the ceiling though, and hair, glasses, kitchen floor in a nice speckley design, oh and five year old who insisted on holding the stepladder in case mummy fell and broke her ankle again, bless her! She did have cause to worry though as my last diy job in the garden involved jumping off our 6ft garden fence into the stream at the back of the house and breaking aforementioned ankle! Luckily the man on the other side of the stream was fixing the back of his garage after his daughters new boyfriend had driven the car into the wall (that must have been embarrassing for him) Anyway he heard me fall and sent his wife in her wellies, down the stream with a phone so I could call my diy-phobe of a husband to come and get me! He was lying on the sofa in the house watching football! After crawling through the bushes into our neighbours garden who very fortunately don't have 6ft fences, I was eventually rescued and whisked off for plastering. Funnily enough that was the last time I did any gardening (last Easter) we now have a fine jungle!
So its time to get on with emptying the fridge, no not snack-time dismantling the kitchen, although there was some cheese left last night and some pie......
Do you have any clothes on or just the slippers?! Naked blogging. Hm.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the new speckly haircut, I think a few paint splats save you the cost of highlights. That's good upcycling!
